Cover letter
Fill in the fields and the letter takes shape alongside, with your details, the organisation you are applying to, the role and your motivation. Available in Portuguese, English or Spanish. When you are done, print it, and your browser's print dialog offers save as PDF.
Three steps, nothing to install.
Everything runs on your own computer, start to finish.
Name yourself and the organisation
Your name and contact, and the company you are applying to. A letter addressed to nobody reads like a letter sent to everybody.
Write the role and your motivation
Which position, and why you are applying. The motivation field takes free text: it is the part that decides, and it is yours.
Print or save
The letter is already finished alongside. Hit generate and pick your printer, or save as PDF from the print dialog itself.
The form is handled here, the text is yours
The builder deals with what is mechanical: header with your details, addressee, date, structure and signature. What makes a letter work is the middle paragraph, and that is written with that role and that company in mind. A well-formatted letter with generic text is still a generic letter.
One page, three paragraphs
The shape that works is short: why you are writing, what you bring that matters for this role, and what you expect next. People who read applications read dozens, and no second page gets read before the first one convinces.
Write about them, not only about you
The difference between a letter that gets through and one that does not is usually a sentence showing you understood what the company does and what problem the role exists to solve. It is not flattery: it is evidence that you read.
It does not write the text for you
There are no automatic suggestions, no sample text to fill in, and no artificial intelligence drafting your motivation. The field is empty on purpose: a letter written by a machine reads like a letter written by a machine, and people who read applications notice.
It is not a CV
The letter goes with the CV, it does not replace it. Repeating your whole career here spends the single page you have to convince.
It has no legal effect
Unlike the other documents on this site, this letter creates no obligations and proves nothing. It is communication, and the footer disclaimer applies to it for consistency rather than out of need.
Questions about the cover letter.
Is a letter worth sending when the application is a form?
It is when there is a field to attach one. Many forms ask only for the CV, and there the letter can go in the body of the email or the message field, with the same text and without the header.
Should I include my full address?
These days it is rarely needed. Name, email and phone are enough. An address makes sense where being nearby is relevant to the role.
Which language should I write in?
The language of the advert. If the advert is in English, the letter goes in English, even where the company is Portuguese. The builder has all three, and switching language keeps what you have written.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Each document costs one euro, as a one-off purchase: you pay for that document and there is no monthly fee. The account is created by magic link, with no password. The declaration opens without paying, one a day.
Applying for something?
We handle the form, you write the rest.
